The Credit Scoring System Explained
I've been working on my credit score for most of this year. My wife and I would like to buy a house. We sold the house I once occupied with my ex-wife, which was not in either of our names because of previous issues with credit, to obtain money we could use as part of a down payment. I first started looking into buying a house, and what my credit needs to look like, late last year. My credit has had its up and downs. Don't get me wrong, my credit isn't terrible. It's fair. It's been good, and it's been bad, but right now it's fair. Which, in today's credit market - in all it's glorious turmoil - seems to mean my credit is horrible.

The Mountain Man
There's a guy who lives around the corner from me who intrigues me. Most days, as I pass his house on my way home from work, I see him sitting in his front yard. If I waive to him, he raises his walking staff in acknowledgement. When I don't waive, I feel his gaze follow me as I make my turn at his house. His hairy chest peeks out from behind his make-shift leather vest. The feathers and trinkets on his staff shake in the wind. His leather fur trapper style hat tames the wild, long, gray hair upon his head. His hairy, bare legs stand ready to raise his body to attention at a moment's notice. He perches upon his lawn chair, giving the impression of what a lounging Mose

Credit Companies are Frustrating
OK, so I owe money. As many people in this country, I have a balance on my credit card that I'm not proud of. I'm working to pay it off. I'd like to make it right. I just wish my credit card company wanted me to make it right, too. This past year, I've struggled with making payments to one of my cards, but not because I couldn't pay. I've fought with reps over the phone over and over again, but not because they're threatening me with just about everything for not paying. No, I have issues with my credit card because they DON'T want me to catch up on my bill. In the last year, I've had minimum payments as low as $137.34 and as high as $50
