Do metrics blind our perception? There is perhaps a legitimate risk that you get only what you quantify, but you must ask the question, "how important are the things we cannot quantify?" Listen to Larry, for he is wise. I bet you didn't think linguistics had anything to do with sabermetrics. I would say something clever but I would distort his provocative intent.
