Guess Who’s Milwaukee County Supervisor is the Sheperd Express “Jerk of the Week”?
From the latest edition of the Sheperd Express: (towards the bottom) Jerk of the Week County Supervisor Lynne DeBruin “Jerk” is too strong of a word to describe Supervisor Lynne DeBruin for her votes on the Milwaukee County Board, but we are extremely disappointed with her for caving in to pressure from the Citizens for Responsible Government, an extreme right-wing group, and voting with County Executive Scott Walker’s team on a majority of the veto overrides. For example, DeBru
Sen. Feingold Could Handle Tommy Thompson Challenge
Every afternoon, one of the dead horses that conservative talk radio show host Mark Belling beats is “his” idea that former Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson should run for the Senate against three term incumbent Russ Feingold. I have a feeling that he harps on it so much because if Thompson ever did decide to run, Belling would claim credit for making it all happen through the magic of his microphone. At any rate, a new poll from the Public Policy Polling firm seems to discount the idea that Gov. Thompson would provide a credible challenge to Sen. Feingold: A former four term Governor would seem like the best candidate Republicans could possibly put

Neat “United We Serve” and “NFL Play 60″ Ad with NFL Stars and the President
Cool ad for the United We Serve and NFL Play 60 campaigns. Although because it shows the President of the United States, who at the time happens to be Barrack Obama, some conservatives will no doubt jump on it as another attempt to “indoctrinate” kids through a socialist message like “WORKING TOGETHER” as a team towards a “COMMON GOAL”. Both are clearly socialist/communist/marxist code phrases. After all, those kids doing jumping jacks look suspiciously like some kind of Maoist training camp. First he tells our kids to “work hard and stay in school” and now he’s trying to tell them to “be active and live a
The Good and Bad News from Milwaukee County Board Veto Meeting
While (as of 10pm) the Journal Sentinel still doesn’t have anything up about what happened at the County Courthouse today regarding the County Board dealing with the County Executive’s vetoes, I do have some thoughts and news about what happened today. At the end of the day, some critical programs and services were completely cut, some were saved and the property tax levy for Milwaukee County will rise 2.18% next year, which is lower than the rate of increase of many other Counties in SE Wisconsin. So what did the County Board override and keep funding for? Security services at the Courthouse. Alcohol treatment and drug addiction (AODA).
