What a Fun Day!
It might be nearly 50 degrees outside on November 28, but inside it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. What fun it is to pull out the boxes of greens and ornaments. Memories of Christmas past come rushing back, wonders of Christmas present, and dreams of Christmas future are dancing in my head. Our day started early. Note the beautiful sunrise in the window as Jeff put the wreath into place. The sun came up and the decorating started with the mantel. I was so excited to put up some new ornaments and a tree from my f
Many Thanks
Happy Thanksgiving to All! Although today might be the national holiday for being thankful, I make it a daily practice. The list is long...children, husband, family, good health...you get the idea. We live in a busy world and are busy people, but I try so hard to remember that it's the little things that matter. Yeah...that's just around the corner. I flew through my favorite quilt shop in Ames, Iowa, on Friday and took advantage of their 15% off sale. Star employee Janelle found me the PERFECT animal fabric for the quilt. This is where I started on Saturday...cutting strips.
Let the memories begin!
Being a 10-year 4-H member and having LOVED every minute of it, my expectations for our children are probably a bit high when it comes to their involvement in 4-H! But, oh, well, let's set the standards high from the beginning and adjust when necessary in the future. This month was only the third Clover Kids meeting Henry has attended. (October's meeting got canceled due to too many sick kids.) When the sign-up sheet got sent around, I figured we might as well get our month out of the way...ok, secretly, I LOVED doing presentations when I was in 4-H so I couldn't wait to sign Henry up!But, oh, what could a 5-year-old do for a presentation that was appropriate for him? Even with a co
