Home Sweet Home!
I made it back safely! The trip was a success...I learned a lot about what I do and don't want to do as an art therapist and am ready to get a hold of the rest of my semester and spring into my second.I've been attempting to engage in something creative for at least 30 minutes everyday and so far it's been a bit of a challenge with time constraints. Anything from reading an inspiring book to taking photos or going for a walk...just little things that nurture the creator inside. Today I decided to engage in a little fun with paper and photos. It was sparked by a recent interest in stop-action animation thanks to Donica and
AATA Conference
It's 6:30 pm and this is the first moment of down time I've had since 7:30 this morning. I started the day with a keynote speaker and an awards ceremony. I found out that there were 75 applicants for scholarships this year and there were 10 recipients. When they called my name the slide on the screen

Sometimes I just can't bring myself to look at assignments or work for another minute. When those times arise I give myself a chunk of time to take a break with a very specific time limit. I alloted myself 15 minutes the other night and this is what came out of it. About 1 minute of filming and 10 minutes or so of editing. I'm not really sure if there was a reason for it or any point in watching it but I felt the need to share.
Not always easy.
Life is hard right now. Graduate school is unbelievably draining and taxing and my body was barely able to function today...I needed one latte in the AM and a second in the afternoon. It's 8:49 and after writing this post my only plan is to go get in bed. I have been working double time to get work done before the conference in Dallas and before Thanksgiving so I don't have to worry about too much while I'm away. It's paid off and I've gotten a significant amount of work done but it's starting to wear on me. Tonight...sleep. Tomorrow, lots of work meetings and more homework followed by cleaning and packing! Then on Thursday I head to Dallas early for a weekend of Art Therapy awesomenes
Let the countdown begin...
As a way to help me visualize just how much time I have left this semester and to keep on top of the assignments that are left I have created one awesome, giant calendar. This lovely piece of tag board is up on my living room wall....day one is crossed off!
