I Like Granola

Information

Blog Name: I Like Granola
Url: http://www.ilikegranola.com
Language: English
Topics: health food, nutrition, granola
Description: I’m not a nutrition expert, nor do I claim to be, so feel free to throw tomatoes or send me hate mail if you don’t agree with what I’m saying. I have always been aware of what I eat and have been fascinated by the history of nutrition, people’s relationships with food and their bodies, and overall health. The reason I started this blog was to talk about food, health, and diet in a healthy way, to review products that claim to be good for you and share recipes as well as opinions on diets, food and lifestyles. That being said, this isn’t a diet blog. I don’t believe in dieting. So, if you’re looking to cut carbs, or survive on cabbage or lemon water alone, this isn’t the blog for you. If you’re looking to develop a healthy relationship with food and your body, you’re in the right place!

Two Stepping My Way Through Texas!
I’ve been a total slacker on the blog front this week but that’s only because work took over my life. My crazyness started on Monday on my return home from Amarillo, Texas where we had the most delightful girl’s weekend with my grandma for her big birthday. I’m not allowed to display her age online but its a big one. :) Anyway, Alyse and I are brilliant - we somehow missed our connecting flight in Vegas. And not because we were out gambling, doing shooters, or dancing the night away - we were just sitting there eating these disgusting veggie bowls and talking in our newly acquired Texas accents. We weren’t even drinking wine - we had NO excuse.
Toot, Toot!
I’ve learned that there are certain times in life when you have to toot your own horn. Even if the thought of broadcasting your awesomeness turns your stomach in knots and makes you so nervous that pit stains start to form, there are certain things that deserve to be shouted from every rooftop, every Facebook page, every Tweet.  And this just might be one of them. And maybe this is only exciting to me because I am a geeky healthy food blogger who gets excited by discovering a new way to bake vegan cookies, new ways to use hemp seed, and finds joy in spending Saturdays alone with my food processor, but here goes anyway. Yours truly and ilikegranola were in
Quick & Easy Yoga Night Dinner
Since last night was a yoga night, Bryan and I had a quick, healthy dinner using the pinto beans we made over the weekend, a little tofu, bean sprouts and some tortillas to make wraps. The key was really the sauce - I have been having so much fun trying different recipes for yogurt sauces but this one might take the cake: spicy yogurt sauce with Oikos, and the Pepper Plant. Its a wrap!
Cabbage Salad Slaw
I’m not sure if this is cabbage salad or cole slaw but who cares - for the sake of this post, its cabbage salad slaw. This was one of those “a little of this and little of that” kind of recipes - no real plan - just kind of threw things in as I went along. Now, I am on a kick and want to try a thousand more variations of cabbage salad slaws - or maybe just enough to make Bryan hate cabbage for the rest of his life :). I started with this beauty: Added a little of this (and
Best Cookies EVER…
All I have to say is thank you Heidi Swanson, author of Supernatural Cooking/ 101 Cookbooks for the  most AMAZING cookies ever! Heidi’s Mesquite Chocolate Chip cookies are to die for. If you want the recipe, you’ve got to grab a copy of her book.  Its soooo damn good, she’s even removed it from her own blog. Since, I love to share my kitchen creations at work -  especially
