Mung Dal Dosa and Coriander Peanut Chutney
I just loved the texture of Mung dosa- thick, spongy and soft! Imagine the taste when it is slathered with coriander peanut garlic chutney! Both make a perfect pair. I found this recipe from a cookbook.Mung Dal DosaServes 3Ingredients:Soak these in water for 2 hours: Mung dal(yellow)-1/2 cupBoiled rice or Sona masoori rice-1 cupFenugreek seeds-1 tspOther Ingredients:Hing-1/4 tspSaltRed chilli-1Curr
Peanut Powder
Picture may not be great. But the podi(powder) tastes great if you are a peanut and garlic lover. Ingredients:Roasted unsalted peanuts-1/2 cupRed chillies-3Hing-1/4 tspCurry leaves-a fewGarlic-3 clovesSaltOil-1/2 tspMethod:Heat oil in a pan. Add red chillies, garlic, curry leaves and hing.Once garlic and red chillies turn brown, turn off the heat.Let it cool. Grind along with peanuts and salt to a coarse powder.
Special Mor Kuzhambu(Spicy coconut-buttermilk gravy)
Mor Kuzhambu is a typical South Indian dish made with buttermilk and coconut-green chilli-cumin paste. This recipe is slightly different from the usual. The addition of roasted spices makes the gravy flavorful and taste better. Serves:3Ingredients:Thick Yogurt-1 cupSaltHing-1/4 tspTurmeric powder-1/2 tspCurry leaves-a fewAny one vegetable of your choice(lady's finger/capsicum/pumpkin/chayote squash)-1/2 cup chopped into big piecesSpices to roast in 1/2 tsp oil
