Today is Thanksgiving here in the US, and I certainly have more than my share to be thankful for this year!I am going to spend the day with a group of dear friends, eating turkey with all the fixings and drinking a little cranberry wine before I fall into bed to rest up for three solid days of toddler-izing my house. I'm a pretty trusting person; I usually believe what people tell me.This is not because of some idealistic belief in the fundamental goodness of my fellow human beings.Mostly it's laziness. It's so much easier and less time consuming to just take people at face value, rather than try to think about all the possible ways in which they might be lying to me or trying to pull a fast one, and then trying to figure out how to catch them in their lies.
