My struggle to find the truth of Psalm 16:11, "You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever." no matter how sad and difficult the days get.
I write about these days as a mother of four who recently gave her oldest child back to God after 8 1/2 years of battling for her life through medical and developmental challenges. My remaining children include two healthy kids and one with his own medical challenges that fortunately do not slow him down at all. Life is never dull, never easy, never predictable, and always full of blessings even in the direst emergency. |

October was a difficult month for me. It was the first anniversary of Elli's death, our oldest daughter. For reasons that still evade me, I'm struggling with a wide variety of issues, including but not limited to unreliable memory, poor sleep,
NaNoWriMo
Say what?
Let me explain. NaNoWriMo is shorthand for National Novel Writing Month. In November, thousands of people will attempt to write a 50,000 word novel (or beginning of one) in 30 days. From scratch. No editing allowed (phew!).
I haven't written fiction since I was a child, so I have no idea what I'm doing. But they keep telling me to just start with a character, send them out into the

Tigger shouted out "Trick or Treating!" at each house,
then in his most chipper tones, said "Come on in!" and tried to enter the house.

Something about blurry photos of this little guy just seems right.
Little Girl chose this chipmunk-cheek look for her photos.
