Revelations Abound!

Waterbaby
I’ve just come back from 3 days up past Mansfield, on our annual Barnstorming weekend… The crew was big: loads of kids, motorbikes, drinks drunk, songs danced to, and bombs into the pool! Yes, this little waterbaby spent a LOT of time in the pool, playing mermaids, doing handstands and somersaults and just floating about enjoying the bliss of being in the water. Boy Wonder found a fantastic 80’s mix with videoclips which we played Friday night, and I spent a solid hour and a half dancing under the stars, it was just magical. Saturday I enjoyed splashing about, and tanning. Yes, several more of my freckles joined up! It was a wonderful time away.

NGV Day!
I’m quite excited, today I have an interview at the National Gallery of Victoria for the role of a Voluntary Guide. I’m eerily calm about what the day holds. Back in July I set some goals for myself, and one of them was to become an NGV guide, so perhaps that is where my inner calm and confidence is coming from, the knowledge that this is what I would like to be doing. The role comes with 18 months of training on every single piece of art in the gallery – both the NGV international and the Ian Potter Gallery, as well as everything in storage plus specialised Event training (eg the recent Dali exhibit, or the Impressionists exhibit)… On top of all that,

WOW (Within One Week)!!
A fantastic idea that was suggested to me by my dear friend and über-networker Dhea is a catchy little phrase: “WOW” What can be achieved Within One Week? I think I’m going to apply the WOW principle to my artwork and the development of my new collection. WOW I’ve selected the colour palette! WOW I’m chewing on a solid creative theme to link everything! WOW I’m trying a new technique! I have my Wednesday Art Girls again tomorrow, and I will be putting these into practice! Yummeeeee!
It’s that time of year when we start to shed our winter woollies, stare at our much-paler now-scaley skin and think “Damn I could do with a wax and a spray tan!” Ok maybe you don’t, but that was the second thing I thought when I wore short yoga-type pants to gym last week. I’m still verging on blue this week, and am a little prickly, but it’s not the end of the world. The FIRST thing I thought of though, is that I really love how much simpler things are when it comes to food. A great day for Painting!
As promised, here are some photos of today’s Art Workshop with my Wednesday Art Girls Quite a wet and wild day outside, so perfect for some bonhomie and creativity! I’m developing a new collection, and deciding what colours will be in this palette. Thanks to some beautiful photography by my friend Jan in Canada, one of those colours is an amazing shade of yellow, which I’ve tried to capture on a photo below. More on my plans for the eventual exhibition in coming months.
