Winter Is Gonna Be Long and Cold
Hi. Kunk is very busy preparing some stuff, so blogging, unfortunately, again had to wait. This is not a super unique post either and I’m usually not doing it like this but now I’m just gonna share some remixes I really liked in the past couple weeks. Kinda trying to set stuff to the winter-mood we have here. You know, fog and rain and colder than fall should be. I’m in between dancefloor-exploding hotness that melts the coming snow and the ice-queen coolness and beauty that has its home in the clouds around the mountaintops. So my choices are: Yeah Yeah Yeahs remixed by
We Plants and Binary
You’ve undoubtedly got some serious full court press-ness about Binary’s LA Lights release. It’s chock-full of romance electro aka dreamwave aka however you wanna slice it. In fact, the very last post on this blog referenced the stellar Mmmathias remix of NightWaves‘ “Fascination”. Well, we Kunkers say one good turn deserves another, so we’d like to debut another remix of the very same track. This one hit especially close to home as it’s laid down by a Hungarian who is part of our local Ektiv
MMMatthias + the Room party
One of Kunk’s favourite German producers, MMMatthias just sent us some tracks. One original and two remixes. His own track, Lies, is an awesome broken/sliced/chopped-up weird post-disco tune, following the Ed Bangerists like Justice and SebastiAn. Of course, Ed Banger is kinda under the radar now, not nearly as cool as it was 2 years ago but a comparison still can’t hurt and MMM’s track is from late 2007 anyway. Still sound fresh and new. Newer stuff includes a remix for a track on Boys Noize’s Power. Haven’t heard
Addicted to Love Simulation
We’ve been posting the shit out of London’s 3-piece nu-dance space-disco synth band, Heads We Dance. In June, they had their first full-lenght out, called Love Technology which title already sets the floor for complicated virtual love triangles in mmorpgs and between robots on space ships in other galaxies. Yep, human alienation has really deep consequences. Now, HWD just recently collected their best remixes into a remix album, titled it Dance Technology and made it available as a free download
“Baby Baby I Won’t Forget You In the Night When I Drink My Head Off”
I have to admit, I’m a sucker for garage rock either with single male/female vocals or combined. The Kills’s latest album were my favourite of the last year. Now, I know that a lot of criticism might hit them cause of some lack of novelty or whatever, but The Raveonettes just caught my heart again with In and Out of Control. Lot of time passed since their first shoegaze-noise influenced release and they went in a more cute direction
