Dharamshala: His Holiness the Dalai Lama on attending the 15th Justice Sunanda Bhandare memorial lecture on women and peace said 'women should come forward to play a vital role in world issues and they have that potential as they have more sensitivity towards others' sufferings.'
Talking about peace, His Holiness the Dalai Lama said it cannot come only from words, but it should come from the heart. ''Bloodshed is not a solution to any issue,'' His Holiness said in his address at Siri Fort auditorium in New Delhi on Friday.

Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, India, 14 November 2009 (Outlook) - Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, today said he was active in spreading India's message of non-violence and religious harmony throughout the world.
"I am the messenger of India's ancient thoughts world over," Dalai Lama told an assembly of intellectuals here.
He said democracy was deep rooted in India because the people had deep respect for the two precious ideals. Even non-believer like 'Charvak' was respected and given the high status of a sage in ancient India.

ITANAGAR - The Dalai Lama wound up his week-long tour of Arunachal Pradesh and left for New Delhi this morning.
The Tibetan spiritual head, who reached here from the monastery town of Tawang yesterday, left by helicopter for Guwahati from where he will fly out to New Delhi, official sources here said.
He consecrated the newly constructed official residence of his disciple Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu, a Buddhist from Tawang, at his request yesterday and spent the night there.
