we are family
last weekend we went to yoakum to hang out with family. today we saw more family at our thanksgiving celebration. here are the pics. deacon making his ‘cheeeeese’ face with his great-nanny smith. cousin blaze.

there went the neighborhood
last weekend an ederly woman was shot in the neck unloading her grocery bags from her car. the shooting happened in the parking lot of our apartment complex and possibly while deacon and clayton were home. someone said that the shooter followed the woman from the grocery store to our parking lot. all i know is that happened on saturday and we turned in our move-out notice on monday. we’ve been going back and forth about moving anyways. we want to move closer to my job so i don’t have to drive 25 minutes everyday back and forth. also, as our family expands we could use a backyard and an extra room. the only bummer is that we will have to do

i didn’t know he could do that.
deacon fell asleep by himself tonight. i didn’t know he could do that. if you will recall, that fateful day last spring that deacon hopped out of his crib was the last time he ever set foot in it again. since he wouldn’t sleep in his crib and we didn’t have a big boy bed yet, deacon slept on the couch for a couple of months. sounds weird, but it worked. then we finally got a twin sized bed, cars sheets and deacon took to his bed like a fish to water. but since night one, clayton or i have always laid down in bed with him until he was asleep. stop judging, it worked for us. not to mention that as a working mom, those 30 mintues whe
