It’s going to be theme week here at Moonspun Spins (did I ever tell you that Tattoeed Dad came up with that…not moonspun, the spin part? I thought it was very clever). As we are heading out in our magic minivan to Cleveland I asked a group of family and friends to guest post. Here is specifically what I asked them to do: What I’d love is for you to provide a list of 5 things you love about a Thanksgiving (or any other holiday) and 5 things that you hate/are hard for you. You can send me just a bullet list. You can explain as much or as little as you want.
And so in the next coming days you’ll be treated to a posts as wonderful, unique and funny as
All done!
At 5:30 p.m. today, my finger hovered over the “submit” button in my online classroom. My paper on Gustavus Adolphus was done. Somehow it was just the right length at 7450 words and 25 pages. It had 56 footnotes a page and a half of biblography. Half of it had been read by RP who had given me good feedback and I had pressed on. I had reached my goal of finishing on time. I had learned things and in the end, I liked what I was handing it. It would be very tedious to write something that long on something boring! And then I hit the button and I was done. All done!
And so now I have two weeks off from school and next week off work as we head to Ohio. Ironically as I sit

So it can be the little things in life that make your spouse like your hero. My handsome hubby proved that so well the last few days. And one of the many reasons that a) I love him and b) he’s a good partner for me.
Sunday night I get home from bringing lil m to her Nutcracker rehearsal and then because it was late dropping her off at FFO’s for the week. I bomb in the house and am immediately frustrated that RP, hasn’t checked his e-mail in the last hour because he was grading exams and so the hot pizza I was hoping would be cooking in the oven was not. Because of course FFO’s phone or cell phone hadn’t worked, but her computer did and so I’d e-

I think it’s a Wordless Wednesday for me as I contemplate Gustavus as well as how annoying I find some co-workers and siblings in law….
Here is a picture of lil moonspun at my friend and former colleague Pecquea’s wedding over Labor Day. (I miss you, Pec!)
Isn’t she cute? She is wearing the moonstone circlet that I wore in my wedding to RP.
And speaking of, added a new link in the Worth Checking Out heading on the right side of the homepage…it’s cal
Go Gustavus
I know it’s not just me, but when you are an adult time goes by really fast. Doesn’t it? GB and I were talking the other day about when you are a kid how the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas are endless. Like Christmas is NEVER going to come. And as an adult you realize how short that time really is.
Well, I still am finding it a bit hard to believe that I am in my last and 11th week of my second graduate seminar. This time the end project is a 25 page paper. Throughout the course at different times we had to select a paper topic, submit a bibliography, and a thesis statement and outline. All had to be pre-approved by the professor. So I knew 8 weeks ago, I
