Something profound
It’s not like me to sit in front of the tv for hours, but as I was walking out of the campus center last night after discussion group and saw ‘breaking news’ and ’shooting’, when I got home I clicked on the cable news networks and watched the reports about the tragedy unfolding at Fort Hood. I sat down to do my required homework post and felt I should shut the tv off.
I couldn’t.
I somehow managed to eek out some fairly coherent thoughts about the Western Way of War, though posted them in my online classroom with the caveat to my classmates that I was unable to fully concentrate since I couldn’t shut the tv off.

An Act of Faith
That was the title of EightofNine’s last post on the blog that I told you about last week where she is running her first 1/2 marathon this weekend. Since the blog was created, Eight has really outdone herself with posting a training log which I have found fascinating. Eight is a very organized and thorough person and unlike me, she can sit down with an 11 week training program and understand what it means and how to fit int into her life. It’s been great to read!
Anyway, I am finding I don’t have mu

Today is a special day for someone for whom I admire greatly…my Great Boss (aka GB). I waxed all sentimental about him last year so if you want to know why I think he is great, you can read about it here. This year is a milestone birthday for him as he turns 50th. Or as I wrote on his Facebook wall…a 1/2 century. That’s pretty wild to think about.(and who am I to tease the same milestone is less than 8 years away for me)
RP and I came back to the office last night and decorated GB’s office with streamers and balloons so he’d see them when he came in. And yesterday I secretly passed around

I hate Mondays…and not because I have to return to work. That’s all right, there is good in routine and while I could have a more exciting job, I’ve got nothing big to complain about on most days. It is actually every other Monday that I hate in truth, especially the ones after lil moonspun and I have had a great weekend, we have ended it with me forcing her into the shower on Sunday nights because i am mean because I feel like starting the week off clean if a good thing. Most often we have snuggled on the couch watching American Funniest Videos and I have tucked her into

I gave credit where credit was due as I am not a particularly original person. The idea for lil moonspun’s costume came from Family Fun magazine. But she embraced it and loved it. One of the things I love about my daughter is her confidence to go out and have to tell people 1) what she is and 2) listen to people wonder about her costume.
We started out our afternoon with a Tupperware party. At one of the carpool mom’s who I am becoming more friends with. It has been years (like 15) since I have been to one and it was fun. And now I will be having my very own in a month!
Then we headed out for pizza for the youngin’s and trick or treated. This was the first
