Should professional sports teams be owned by their communities?
The other day I was talking
to someone who believes that professional sports teams should be owned by their
communities. He cited the example of the Green Bay Packers.
This way the fans would
support their investments and control would be local.
Did you know that the

The Gashouse Era, part 3
1936 came and the Redbirds were again one of the powerhouses of the NL. With tons of hitting and aggressive base running they ruled the NL for 85 days before succumbing to the lack of pitching in the end. The Cardinals finished the season in 2nd place 87-67 .565 -5. Also, two key players return from injury. Both Chris Canty and Michael Boley will be back.

It's just too early to be talking about multiple championships. By the same token, it's just way t
Flyers Survive the Flu, Beat Sabres 5-2
The flu has hit the Flyers. Matt Carle, Arron Asham, Dan Carcillo, Danny Briere, Ryan Parent, Ian Laperriere, and Jeff Carter have all been affected. Many had missed practice throughout the week, and were questionable for Friday's game in Buffalo. The Sabres have been hot. They were 9-2-1, and have allowed the fewest goals in hockey. The Flyers on the other hand, are the leagues highest scoring team. It would
