| Description: | Naomi Balatbat fashion designer turn event planner decided to bring her love for fashion back to life as the opportunity presented itself in late 2008 when she was invited to showcase some of her designs at Seattle Fashion Week in April 2009. Naomi has been in the apparel industry since 2003 where she worked for one of the largest fashion houses in LA. After a few years working for a predominate designer, Naomi decided to test other waters aside from fashion and decided to move back to Seattle, WA. Ever since her homecoming, the FIDM graduate has been juggling anumber of hobbies and interests. She founded Soiree Events Co., an event planning company in 2007, started her own non-profit organization benefiting homeless and battered women, and is also a speaker at high schools for the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. When the multifaceted 26 year old isn’t planning a wedding, whipping up a dress, or speaking to high school students, she is most commonly found at your local second hand store rummaging the racks for the most coveted vintage pieces. In contrast, the vibrant designer loves her some football just as much as she loves fashion, and spends a great amount of time with her family. Naomi B. is a huge proponent of women and aims to inspire women worldwide through her work as a non-profit director, speaker, event planner, and fashion designer. “People sometimes think of women as apprehensive, weak, and breakable, and women sometimes believe it. I think with great style, attitude, and options of affordable glamour the stereotypes can be beat. As long as you have the confidence in what you wear, that will never go out of style…” |
