Thanksgiving is here!!!
Hi Everyone,
Thanksgiving is almost here and I have a little advice. I say a little, because it is so hard to resist all that good food, or to know how much insulin or medication to take for it.
I have a couple of small tips. First, try to eat many of the veggie dishes, because they fill you up quickly with all the natural fiber in them. If you eat a lot of them, you won't eat as much stuffing and potatoes. Second, if you can make your own Pumpkin Pie, or anything with milk, try using Almond Milk for the filling, if you can handle nuts. You will have to be sure that others know that it is in the food. Almond milk has the good fat in it that is so important for
Diabetic Luncheon
Hi, I have been busy leaving flyers out at clubs, churches, Dr.and Dentist offices, and hair salons for my Diabetic Luncheon coming up on Sat. Oct. 24th. People who want to come, can go on my website, www.theorganicdiabetic.net and order tickets with PayPal. For $15.00, Diabetics and their family can have a very nice lunch, complete with the Carbs figured out for them. I am very much looking forward to meeting everyone! It will be held in St. Charles, IL at Tri City Fitness,at 1:00pm. As a healthy, 40 year Type 1 Diabetic, I feel quite qualified to be able to do this. It has always been frustrating for me to go to a restaurant, and not know what I have been eating in terms of carb count
breakfast
Hi everyone,
This is what I have now, for breakfast. Remember, I am working on getting off insulin.
For a quick breakfast, I have a scoop of Usana Health Sciences, Soyamax, a scoop of Usana Health Science's Peach Mango Fibergy, water and Just Cranberry juice for more flavor. Shake and/or mix into a shake.
If I have more time, I steam brocolli, cabbage, or greens. Add "Deb's Olive Oil" to taste and some sea salt. Along with an egg, With each of these, I am very full and happy. A great way to start the day.
I need to ask my friend, Chef Deb, if I can use her olive oil recipe, 1st, before I publish it.

Looking for Leptin
Hi, I am hoping to find new followers. I will need to start networking this blog.
I just had another Diabetic Dr. appt., and I asked Dr. Bielski if I could get a Leptin test. He thought awhile and said that there is no measuring, or what is a good or bad testing result yet. So, I guess I will have to wait.
I am doing pretty good with eating only veggies and lean meats with olive oil. It is not as bad as it sounds. There are many good tasting veggies and they fill you up! I feel better, I have more energy and I am still on my insulin. I do not drop in what I call "Insulin OverDose" as much as I used to, so that makes me happy. More soon.www.theorganicdiabetic
