Now that he’s got a band again, it’s time for Jay Reatard to get back to playing shows. Turns out, he’s playing Johnny Brenda’s on Saturday night. Often compared the Buzzcocks, Reatard’s got a firm hold on his own little min-niche, and it rules. Need another reason? His new band is called The Cola Freaks.

Roots play with Dirty Projectors in NYC
It's not really appropriate to call The Roots a strictly Philly band anymore. They're doing that whole house band thing for what's-his-name, a decidedly New York undertaking (though when it comes to naked chicks, ?uestlove clearly prefers Philadelphia).
