Ice Cream
It reached 32 Degrees celsius in the afternoon and immediately the day started flooding back memories of the ice cream truck and Eddie Murphy’s classic stand up comedy video ‘Delirious’, god knows I’ve worn that tape out during the 80’s.
Coltrane and Davis
Undoubtedly one of the most influential line up’s in Jazz history gathered together to record the seminal album ‘Kind of Blue’ in 1959 at Columbia’s 30th Street studio in New York.
Miles Davis (Trumpet) – John Coltrane (Saxophone) – Julian Adderley (Saxophone) – Bill Evans (Piano) – Wynton Kelly (Piano) – Jimmy Cobb (Drums) – Paul Chambers (Bass)
Here’s some film footage of Miles Davis and John Coltrane performing ‘So What!&
Charlotte Gainsbourg ‘Heaven Can Wait’
Here’s the first video to the first single from Charlotte Gainsbourg’s forthcoming album ‘IRM’. Beck has collaborated on this track and has also produced most of the album too.
Supreme X Damien Hirst
Another one to file under interesting collaborations, this time New York skate brand ‘Supreme‘ have teamed up with British artist Damien Hirst to come up with their latest line of decks. Hirst’s trademark colourful spots and jar poison labels clearly dominates each design in the brand’s new line. Supreme’s new collection is available from the 19th November.
Innervisions
I spent a good period of my Sunday listening to Stevie Wonder, in particular his two greatest albums ‘Innervisions’ and ‘Songs in the Key of Life’. This video of Stevie performing ‘Living for the City’ is straight from 1974. Oh the joy of Youtube!
