"We've got issues!"
Lara has come a long way in embracing, er, accepting the role of a farmer's wife (though I admit, i'm a far cry from being honored with the title of 'farmer'). She will package butchered chickens, spend countless hours in the garden, and even milk the goat. There are, however, limits to what she will accept as appropriate farm behavior. Recently, on a rainy evening, she was handling the task of milking Hannah. I was searching for two missing brown leghorns when I heard "HANNAH, NO! Don't you know better than that?" and then "Jeremy! We have issues!" I promptly abandoned the task at hand to discover what rude and unacceptable behavior Hannah the goat had perpetrated. As I enter

Well, Hannah isn't exactly a kid anymore. The Wheat's have graciously provided us with another learning experience for our fledgling goat operation. A 'first timer' on the milking stand. We will harvest most all of it this week.  We will eat as much of it fresh as we can and the freeze the rest.  If there is more than we can use, then we will be looking for outlets to sell it.
