Description: Being diagnosed with Celiac disease, and told that most everything that you have been eating up to this point can kill you, can seem pretty devastating. But it’s not. You will quickly find that there is a huge silver lining to this life changing news - the huge (and growing) amount of support, the fact that some of the healthiest food on the planet is still ok for you to eat and the fact that you can live a normal, healthy life just by changing your diet - no pills, drugs, or surgeries. I would argue that being diagnosed with Celiac is a blessing in disguise.

Fall Flavored Risotto
I know that we’ve now technically started the official countdown to Christmas, so you might say I’m a little late with a recipe that is geared for fall.  Well, I hope you don’t say that, and you, like me, are willing to desperately cling to any remaining reminders of fall. My wife and I are both frustrated (more and more each year it seems), at the rush to get to Christmas.  Nowadays you will find Christmas stuff in stores and even Christmas shows on TV not too soon after Halloween!  Come on, that’s just r
Gift Ideas for Celiacs - Idea #1!
Drum roll please….the #1 gift idea on our Gift Ideas for Celiacs list is… A Personal Chef! Yup, getting a personal chef is without a doubt, the ultimate gift you can give.  Think of the possibilities… You can use their services to fill your freezer and fridge with great tasting food that is made to your exact needs and specifications.  Need gluten free?  You got it.  No dairy?  No problem.  No eggs?  No soy?  No whatever - a personal chef should be able to accomodate.  What better gift than a week where you know you don’t have to worry about dinner every night and the food you’ve got is better than going out to most restaurant
Gift Ideas for Celiacs - Idea #2
The second best Celiac gift idea for 2009 is one that let’s your creative side shine.  It’s a gift that’ll mean a lot to someone because you have to put some time and thought into it - even more than with any other gift.  What’s the big idea?  Wait for it…wait… Gift basket. Now, normally I don’t think to give gift baskets during the holidays (unless it’s for a client or boss at the office right?)  But the more I got to thinking about the concept, and how I would feel if I got one, the better I liked it!  To put together a gift basket, especially for a Celiac since there aren’t any pre-done, GF specific ones that I&
Gift Ideas for Celiacs - Idea #3
I’ve wanted one of these for a long time and I think it’s one of the coolest (no pun intended) gifts anyone could get.  A regular cooler is great for short trips, or if you don’t need to keep anything frozen.  But, if you need to make sure something stays frozen, are going on a long trip and don’t want to deal with ice packs or worse yet regular ice (and all the water as it melts), or even want to keep food warm, one of these would be ideal! Yes, that’s right, the

For idea #4 on our gift list, I’m going back to the basics - measuring cups and
