Jimmie Johnson’s Fourth Straight Sprint Cup Championship Declares His Greatness To The Ungrateful
(Photo Credit: Rusty Jarrett/Getty Images for NASCAR) Copied over from my Examiner column. There’s no pleasing some people. In the case of NASCAR, a lot of people. The last time someone in any major sport won four or more championships in a row was when Roger Federer won five straight at Wi
Listen To Your Elders, You’ll Learn Stuff
I hadn’t planned on a continuation of the media theme from yesterday, but Greg Engle’s column this morning… A life lesson all too often learned too late is the wisdom of listening to your elders so you can benefit from their wisdom obtained by life’s lessons, the ones only experience can teach. This is especially true when the ones speaking are veter

Maneater – An apt description for Sam Hornish Jr. taking out Jimmie Johnson on lap three, thus adding at least a dash of drama to the Chase entering the final two races. Missed Opportunity
Deep In The Heart Of… Oh, You Know, Yellow Rose And All That
“Hey, Slim?” “Yeah, Clem?” “What’s all the fussin’ and hollerin’ over there?” “Oh, just them NASCAR boys in town again.” “Man, they sure make a racket.” “Ay-yup, sure do. And they’s just gettin’ started on the day.” “Don’t know how much of that racket I can take, Slim. And you know how’s much it upsets Ellie.” “Well, it’s only for a few hours, Clem. Reckon you can handle it that long?” “Yeah, I reckon. Say, how come that feller’s limping around out there?” “Oh,
