To Shop or Not to Shop
Black Friday marks the beginning of the Christmas season. It is a day that is anticipated by shopaholics and bargain hunters nationwide. It is the Superbowl of shopping, and as we have come to learn, only the tough can survive this adventure. People line up hours, in some cases a day ahead of time to get the best possible deal on whatever they want. In my science class last week, one girl said that she wakes up at 2 a.m. on Black Friday to get a head start on everybody else. Some people take this so seriously that they have made it a tradition in their Thanksgiving celebration. Every year
I’ll Do It Later!
I am a sworn Procrastinator. I have been doing it as long as I can remember. I actually remember being in grade school and my parents would have to sit me down and make me do my homework at the table because I didn’t want to do it right then, or at all. I love Christmas. It is my favorite holiday of the whole year. I love that for one whole day people are nicer than they have been all year; I love that for one day we can ask our parents
Patience is a Virtue
With Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner, we all know what that means—family time! Family you haven’t seen since you were six, family you’ve forgotten you even had until now. There’s always that point at dinner when somebody says, “I remember you when you were this high!” and it’s taking all your strength not to say, “Oh really? I remember you when you were this tall!” My family is West Indian, and that means that I have a hundred aunts and uncles and cousins I haven’t even met yet (I don’t want to marry a Trinidadian or a Haitian for fear that I
