Blue Ridge, GA -- Come Ride the Train!!
November 22, 2009The fall colors have come and gone. It was beautiful, and one of the most beautiful places during this time of year is Blue Ridge, GA. This wonderful town is in Fannin County, which is bordered by Tennessee and North Carolina. More than 40% of the county's land is in the Chattahootchee Nati
The Travelogue Continues -- Fort Mountain State Park, GA
November 1, 2009If you haven't had the opportunity to visit Fort Mountain State Park, you are missing an outdoor delight. Located off Hwy. 52, north of Ellijay, just the drive to the park is a wonderful experience. Hwy. 52 winds it's way up the mountains from Ellijay
The Girl's Trip to Sandestin
October 19, 2009Greetings from the North Pole!!! Yes, we are in Sandestin, FL, but it has just temporarily become the North Pole -- just in time for our visit. It has been fairly cool here in Sandestin -- high's not quite reaching 70, and low's in the 40's with wind chills of 36 degrees. For those who don't know, I rent 7 condos here in the Sandestin Resort -- 6 of them right on the beach. One is mine (with my partner Tania) in the Village of Baytowne Wharf, which is on the north side of the resort. And this is a really beautiful place....but I'll have to write about this trip at another time.As it is October, fall, and I live in the North Georgia Mountains.....I wanted to give
Ellijay, GA -- one of "America's Coolest Small Towns"
October 4, 2009I signed onto Yahoo this morning, and saw this article called "America's Coolest Small Towns". They listed 10 towns across the country -- several of which I have visited. This started me to think about my own little town of Ellijay, GA. I think whoever wrote this article must have missed Ellijay. And in fact, most of the time I miss the town of Ellijay. I've lived in this area for 9 years, and I have done very little in my own
