Pretty Flower
Yesterday was wet and a little cold here in FL. The girls went out to put up the chickens for the night and realized that Pretty Flower was missing. The other chicken, Tina, was up on the fence which was very unusual as normally both chickens are in the house when it is cold and rainy. We looked through the plants, and throughout the yard, but no Pretty Flower. Brooke didn't cry, but I knew she was praying (I was about to cry as I prayed that Pretty Flower would show up soon). This morning, I was the second one up (one has to get up super early to be up prior to Valerie Grace). I went outside and looked for Pretty
Favorite foods and photos
Valerie Grace's favorite food is Maria's chicken. We are blessed to have a Save - a - Lot grocery store in the small town we are in here in Florida. Not only does Save-a-Lot help me not get overwhelmed by all of the American choices, but they also have lots of familiar food (just packaged differently - as in being packaged at all). For just a couple of dollars, we bought a huge package of just chicken feet. I cooked them up in a refrito of tomato, peppers, onions, alino seasoning, oil, carrots, cumin, and cilantro (though no where near the quality of cilantro as they have in Ecuador). She LOVED them.
Photos from this month

Valerie (and all of the girls) were enrolled, and scheduled to begin classes this week. We were all getting pretty excited about the idea of the
Valerie's beautiful eyes
Valerie Grace had an eye examination today. She had been complaining of "soapy" vision and things looking odd. My friend Tammy quickly met us and examined her eyes. She is still seeing things 20/20. Her peripheral vision might be closing in more, but she is still seeing clearly. The doctor then came in and looked at her nerves (they are so wonderful and willing to look at Valerie's optic nerve color without dilating her eyes). The doctor
