The much anticipated housing tax credit
The much anticipated Housing tax credit was passed by the Senate last night by a unanimous vote of 98-0. The tax credit was passed as an amendment to the extension of unemployment benefits. The bill still needs to pass through the House and the President but both have already expressed their support and it is considered to be a formality at this point.
The bill extends the tax credit through April 30th to be under contract and allows an additional 60 days to close the transaction. Income limitations were revised to $125,000/year adjusted gross income for individuals and $225,000 for couples filing jointly.
Dripping Springs Tx. town hall meeting
Dripping Springs Tx. held the first of a series of town hall meetings last night. The meetings are to get citizen input for the development of a strategic comprehensive growth plan. Growth for our little town is inevitable although some jokingly suggested we put up a gate on highway 290 once the HEB grocery opens. I think it's important that we as a community plan for the future and help to guide the growth of Dripping Springs in an intelligent manner. Some of the main focus points of the meeting were to maintain our highly acclaimed Dripping Springs school district, develop a true downtown area along Mercer street and manage the growth

Austin ranks high for tech cities. With 54,000 high tech jobs and 2,600 high tech companies Austin came in at #7 in Biz Journals annual Tech cities list. Biz Journal used 5 criteria to base their rankings.
