Charley Harper, A Great American Artist
I am crazy in love with Charley Harper's work. I have to admit that I only discovered his genius after noticing that his name was spelled the same as our little man's name. Luckily, we snatched up some fun puzzles featuring his work for the kids that Old Navy had in stock shortly after his death in 2007. I love the color, the detail, the humor and childlike way Charley captures nature. Enjoy a little history lesson on a great American artist.

What's My Style Again?
Sometimes, okay, most of the time I baffle at the wide range of decorating styles that I love. Take for example the two rooms below. I am a self-labeled modernist. I typically love ordered rooms, with straight lines and simple color palettes. I adore modern architecture as I adore my modern Architect husband. But then I realize on occasion I have a wandering eye-no, not for another Architect but for a Chesterfield sofa upholstered in a silk mohair! What the hell! I think sadly to myself, "Amy, you will need at least 4 houses to accommodate all of the styles that you love and right now you can barely afford one." Well, I have to chalk it up to good design.
