Sen. Mary Landrieu Channels Sen. Frank Wagner: "Shit Happens"
Louisiana's Sen. Mary Landrieu was presented with the facts surrounding offshore drilling at a Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee last week. First, she accused those testifying against drilling of lying. Then standing in front of a large poster of the flaming Australian oil platform, she exclaimed "The fact is, these things happen."
"All we did was testify about real things that have really happened, to make the point that despite advances in technology, mistakes are still made and accidents still happen - and with offshore oil production, the consequences still can be severe", writes
Who is Jeff McWaters?
One of my recent daily mailers from Jeff McWaters touts his endorsement by the man he hopes to replace, Senator Ken Stolle. How ironic!
Here is McWaters, who in another of his daily mailers, talks about "decreasing the size and scope of government and cutting costs". Yet he touts the endorsement of a man who will suck off the teat of taxpayers a pension based on his $200,000 a year for being VB Sheriff - assuming he can hold down the job for 2 years. Brilliant.
Say anything, right McWaters?

God, according to Palin, put that oil underground for us to burn, she noted in a November 17 boo
A Governor McDonnell with Presidential Aspirations?
I read it on a blog somewhere and then last night at a Green Drinks event in Hampton, it turned up in a conversation. Bob McDonnell has presidential aspirations? Holy cow!
He'll supposedly work to govern from the middle and leave the rightwing kook stuff (that he no less supports) to Cuccinelli. Hmmm... all the more reason to put forth our VB Dems legislative agenda to see exactly how moderate he'll be.
His biggest stumbling block may be Speaker Howell and his House of No, despite the fact that they are both from the same party. Once an ass, forever an ass, that egotist will continue to be the obstruct any progress, Dem or Repug.
McDonnell will have to work fast as he'll nee
